For fitting

Required Materials: Bowl (filled with water), fork, SISU Mouthguard

Wash your hands and your SISU Mouthguard with a mild soap (NOT dish soap, denture tablets, or mouthwash) and water.
Heat your bowl of water until it is hot but not boiling -- about 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place your SISU Mouth Guard into the hot water and wait until it becomes soft and pliable (use a fork or other utensil to determine mouthguard softness), about 30-60 seconds.
Once soft, carefully lift the SISU out of the water with a fork. It’s essential that you do not let the softened guard fold on itself so that the material does not glue together, making it difficult to reshape.
Balancing the pliable mouthguard with your thumbs, tilt your head back and open your mouth wide. Using a mirror, insert the mouthguard and bite down gently on the solid bar in the middle of the SISU – just enough to keep the guard in place.
Press your tongue to the roof of your mouth while flipping up the softened material to your front teeth. Then starting at the back of your mouth, use your fingertips to mold the material up against your teeth moving from back to front – covering the outside of your teeth to create a solid shield.

Once the material is completely molded, close your lips over the mouthguard and gently suck in air until the material has hardened to a snug, perfect fit.

Notes for fitting with braces:

Your SISU Mouthguard is engineered to create a perfect fit with the shape of your teeth. It's very important not to seal it so tightly that it becomes difficult to remove. Before placing the mouthguard into your mouth for shaping, take a piece of aluminum foil or dental wax and shape it to your teeth in the same way as you will shape the soft mouthguard. Hold it in place during the initial fitting of your SISU Mouthguard.
Braces are an investment in time and money, so you want to do it right. During critical times when your teeth are undergoing rigorous adjustments, your orthodontist may recommend an alternative solution, so not to hinder the progress of your treatment. Work with your dental professional to help you fit, and re-fit, your SISU when you come in for your adjustments.
